The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has criticised aspects of the Australian Government's infrastructure spending.

The latest OECD update predicts the Australian economy will grow by about 2.5 per cent next year and that unemployment will peak at 6.3 cent.

The report endorsed the Government's strategy to wind back stimulus spending, but called for more rigorous and transparent cost benefit analysis of its infrastructure projects.

Opposition spokesman Scott Morrison says the OECD isn't alone.

"The Productivity Commission, We've had the Business Council of Australia and now we have the OECD raising serious questions about the transparency and the decision making of this government," he said.

The Opposition says a lack of detail on the $AU43 billion national broadband network is the most glaring example.
