More cases have emerged in China of milk products contaminated with the chemical melamine, which was at the centre of a food safety scandal in 2008.

The official China Daily says health inspectors in Guizhou province found traces of melamine in products which three different companies made early last year.

Prosecutors announced earlier this month that three officials from a dairy in Shanghai were awaiting trial in a separate case.
