Hundreds of people are gathering at a court in Cambodia for the first ever war crimes trial for a Khmer Rouge official.
Comrade Duch, whose real name is Kaing Guek Eav, has confessed to the torture and murder of more than 12,000 people.
He ran the notorious S-21 prison in Phnom Penh.
Thousands of people were sent there but only eleven left alive.
Prosecutors have asked for a 40 year sentence.
Comrade Duch says he has found God and should be released immediately because he has apologised.
He'll learn his sentence in the next few hours.
